Deputy Manager - Children's Care Home (Social Care) in South West London
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our Children's Residential Care Home team. In this crucial role, you will play an integral part in ensuring the well-being and positive development of the children under our care. As a Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Home Manager to lead a team of compassionate staff, oversee daily operations, and collaborate with external stakeholders to provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for the children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Home Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the residential home, maintaining the highest standards of care and support for children.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the care team, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
- Assist in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring the individual needs of each child are met.
- Contribute to the recruitment, training, and professional development of staff members.
- Maintain effective communication with external agencies, professionals, families, and partners to enhance the well-being of the children.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a role model for the team, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in child care.
Requirements for Deputy Manager - Children's Care Home:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial or senior role within a children's residential care setting.
- Relevant qualification in social work, child care, or related field preferred; equivalent experience and relevant training will also be considered.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, inspire, and manage a team effectively.
- Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding practices, child protection procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with children, families, and external stakeholders empathetically and professionally.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to make informed decisions, manage crises, and resolve conflicts constructively.
