OVERVIEW:
As a Deputy Manager at Gymshark London, your purpose is to grow and nurture an inclusive and diverse team, putting their experience at the heart of decisions, which is representative of our brand values. A crucial role in the senior leadership team of our retail space, you'll be key in supporting the Head of Gymshark London to help bring Gymshark to life, in real life.
We do things differently. That's why this won't be your typical retail role. If you think experience first, retail second, then you won't be far wrong.
To thrive in this role, you'll need to have a growth mindset, be people focused, have a drive for results and an entrepeneruial approach. You will also have significant commercial experience, and a thorough understanding of the retail business. You will be working alongside our HQ People Partners, supporting our team experience from the moment they join through to supporting their development for growth.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Represent the Gymshark culture and values, be a natural brand ambassador in everything you do and be passionate about our community and their experience of Gymshark
- Be responsible for the overall day-to-day running and strategic execution of the store, while thinking about the "what's next"
- Identify and act on opportunities - these could be within your pillar or for the wider Gymshark business
- As a clear and confident communicator, you will be comfortable with delivering feedback and working alongside your co-collaborators at GSHQ
- Lead a clear strategy for hiring, and growing and developing our talent
- Maintain and anticipate labour requirements within a managed wage budget
- Line management of your team of supervisors and sales associates, delivering training, creating learning opportunities, having performance conversations, and supporting everyone to be their best
- Oversee the People budget, to plan our team training and morale activities
- Deliver effective scheduling, working alongside you peers to ensure headcount and cost is well managed
- Oversee the management of holiday and absence, equipping our leaders to effectively line manage their team through consistent reporting
- Provide consistent coaching and feedback to hold your team accountable. Be at the heart of your store or pillar, providing coaching and feedback in the moment to your team. Feedback matters
- Succession planning for the growth of our team, identifying support and skills to develop future leaders
- Strive to achieve KPIs for your pillar, as explained by the business, by motivating your team through passionate leadership and coaching. You know where you need to spend your time
- Be responsible for all Gymshark's most important assets: our people, customers, and community. Ensure they and their environment are safe and sound at all times. Also have responsibility for physical assets such as building, stock and tech and ensure any losses are minimised and everything is running as it should
- Support the Head of Gymshark London with the execution of store driven projects as and when needed
- An active Duty leader in the store, leading the business on key days and supporting the Deputy managers and Head of store to ensure senior presence and leadership
- Do all of this whilst bringing fun and energy to your "work" every day

- This is a store based role and as a Deputy manager you will be running the store as needed alongside the other Deputy managers.
- You can commit to working where and when the retail teams need you. This will be on weekends or bank holidays
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential skills:
- Experienced in an agile, changing environment
- Flagship or Area Retail management experience.
- You have a proven track record of managing a multi layered management teams, hiring and developing teams of over 100
- Experience of a HR processes and policies within a retail environment
- Highly effective communicator, written and verbal
- Must be able to take and give constructive feedback
- You are comfortable shifting gears and spinning multiple plates
- Acutely aware of the everchanging macro and competitor landscape, how that impacts your business and team
