Parlex (Europe) Ltd. is a subsidiary of Johnson Electric, the market leader in the manufacture of Polyester Flexible Circuits and FPC Flexible Printed Circuits. Currently we are seeking a Design & Prototype Engineertojoin Parlex Europe’s Engineering Team at its state of the art engineering centre in Newport, Isle of Wight.
Your responsibilities will be to:
- Carry out technical reviews to determine whether customer’s product requirement is in/outside capabilities
- Recommend/define in-house product design to ensure they meet with company best practice
- Analyse & approve in house product design based on familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes and applications
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of materials, products and processes
- Use of CAD and Gerber software packages (3D an advantage)
- Collaborate and provide data to the fabrication teams to organise the production of prototypes
- Evaluate materials and new product designs to meet customer specifications
- Provide technical support to internal and external customers
- Review and completion of technical documentation
Our requirements:
- Passion and expertise with at least three years engineering experience
- Completed studies (diploma/bachelor/master) in Engineering
- Be dynamic and able to work on their own initiative
- Have excellent communication and computer skills
- Be able to work within strict deadlines
- Have a hands on approach for material and product development
- Be organised, with excellent attention to detail
- Have a methodical approach to problem solving
- Working knowledge of CAD packages, ideally AutoCAD or Solid Edge
Would be advantageous:
- Practiced Lean Thinking/Manufacturing
- Knowledge of Printed Electronics
- Foreign language
