Design Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Projects Design Engineer to join an established and growing manufacturing company.

This is a diverse and busy role where you will be involved in managing the designs for a various projects including modifications where relevant. We use Solidworks as our general design software. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design / Projects engineer seeking a role within a busy environment with opportunity to develop your skills and broaden your knowledge

• Manage client Projects
• Prepare design drawings using Solidworks.
• Produce general assembly drawings, detail drawings and part list BOM schedules (Bills of Materials).
• Produce final build and install drawings.
• Issue jobs to the assembly workshop and liaise with technicians during the build.
• Manage a number of jobs simultaneously and working to tight deadlines.
• Work closely with clients to manage projects
• Give technical support and assistance to our customers at a technical level.
• Site visits will be required - Driving licence needed
• Quickly gaining a good technical understanding of our products and applications.

You will ideally be educated to Degree / HND level in Mechanical Engineering with a a high level of experience of Solidworks and project management

Keys Skills

• 5+ years Technical Project Engineering experience
• Engineering qualification beneficial
• Solidworks CAD experience 5+ Years
• Mechanical design and fabrication knowledge
• Automation / Machinery manufacturing beneficial
• Customer facing experience
• Computer literate with MS suite
• Good telephone manner and eye for detail
• Excellent communicator both written and verbally.
• Full Driving licence is essential.
• Ability travel from time to time
