The Role:
· Design and develop the mechanical aspects of consoles, cabinets and enclosures effectively and efficiently.
· Lead and take ownership of mechanical projects, providing technical support to other project stakeholders (customers, project manager etc).
· Maintain and develop accurate data surrounding the mechanical aspects of the project (drawings, layouts, parts lists etc).
· Liaise with other teams within projects to produce and maintain accurate information, including maintenance procedures, training schedules and manuals.
· Assist in developing a strong team culture, creating a team expertise in DFMA.
· Lead and mentor younger engineers within the team, providing technical and hands on assistance where required.
· Adhere to company health & safety rules and procedures.
The Requirements:
· Minimum 10 years worth of experience as a Design Engineer (essential)
· Qualified to degree level in Mechanical and/or Design Engineering (essential)
· Previous experience working with Inventor 3D and AutoCAD (essential)
· Previous experience in NASTRAN and other analysis tools, FEA, CFD etc (advantageous)
· Previous working experience within the naval, marine or defence industries (advantageous)
· Have an understanding of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing techniques (advantageous)
· You will need to achieve strict security clearance
· Full UK Driving Licence
