Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of various highway, active travel, and pedestrian improvement schemes.
- Produce comprehensive design packages, reports, and other deliverables to meet project goals.
- Conduct and oversee site visits and surveys to ensure the accuracy of project requirements.
- Ensure project delivery within agreed timelines and budgets, adhering to internal quality standards and processes.
- Maintain strict compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage resource planning and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, including subcontractors.
- Work collaboratively with clients to understand project objectives and deliver tailored solutions.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, enhancing customer satisfaction and business growth. Job Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or demonstrable experience in highways sector projects.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other relevant design software. ASTA for project planning.
- Familiarity with local Highway Authority standards and relevant legislation.
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers, graduates, and technical staff.
- Strong commercial awareness to efficiently manage project deliverables.
- In-depth knowledge of design guidelines including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20, and other codes of practice.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Possession of a UK/EEC driving licence.
