Due to phenomenal company growth and continual success, we are supporting their recruitment for a Design Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent contract for their Worcester site.
This position is working Monday Friday 08:30am 17:00pm with an earlier finish on a Friday of 13:00pm. Salary on offer is up to GBP50K, which is demonstrable with experience.
We are looking for a creative individual who is confident in their engineering knowledge and able to independently work on varied and interesting project tasks from complete sub assembly design to parts modification and improvement. You will be drafting high quality and accurate 2D and 3D drawings using Autodesk Inventor / Vault software packages.
To be considered you MUST demonstrate 4 years or more previous experience in a design office and design role.
Design Engineer main duties:
- Production of mechanical CAD drawings based on a technical brief.
- Ensuring drawings / parts lists are accurate and meet the required standards.
- Creation of Parts Lists and transfer of data into our MRP system.
- Meeting agreed deadlines.
- Working as a member of a team.
- Working with the purchasing department on the procurement of materials and parts.
- Contributing solutions and ideas to solve technical engineering problems.
- Observe existing projects and occasionally attending site visits to collect information.
- Working alongside the production department to ensure changes are recorded and implemented for future use.
- Position reports to the Design Office Manager or Technical Director.
Design Engineer required skills and experience:
- 3 Years previous experience in a design office.
- An ability to demonstrate a flare for design and attention to detail.
- Ability to think in a methodical, organised way.
- Can demonstrate an aptitude towards software-based engineering and drawing e.g. 3D Inventor/ Vault/ Microsoft Outlook/ Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Demonstrate an interest in and a desire to pursue a career in Engineering.
- Interested in continued training and improvement through on-the-job learning opportunities.
- Enthusiastic, positive, practical.
- Excellent communication skills, in order to present information in drawings as well as liaising with suppliers and business colleagues.
