We are currently working with an advanced manufacturing company based in Londonderry, Northern Ireland. They specialise in automation, robotics and software solutions for various industries, such as packing automation, factory automation, robotics, chemical delivery and DC systems. We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and work on exciting projects that push the boundaries of technology.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components using CAD software. You will perform calculations and simulations to ensure functionality, reliability and safety of the designs. You will collaborate with other engineers, project managers and customers to deliver high-quality solutions. You will also test and troubleshoot prototypes and products, and prepare technical documentation and reports.
What you\'ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and at least 3 years of experience in mechanical Design Engineering, preferably in the automation or robotics sector. You will also need proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software, and knowledge of mechanical principles, materials, standards and regulations. Additionally, you will need excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills, and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
