We are recruiting a Design Manageron their behalf, working on their portfolio of industrial/distribution/logistics projects.
Job Description
Tasked with overseeing and delivering design information as per the agreed schedule, spanning both pre-construction and construction phases of projects. Responsibilities include developing design programs, scopes, and matrices, managing appointments, tracking progress, participating in meetings, and ensuring compliance with regulations and technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage contract specifications, drawings, and associated documents.
- Handle Requests For Information (RFIs) from initiation to resolution.
- Lead design team meetings and collaborate with consultants and subcontract designers.
- Provide design updates to the client team.
- Ensure projects meet BREEAM sustainability standards where necessary.
- Coordinate information submissions to fulfill planning conditions.
- Conduct design review workshops to clarify technical submissions.
- Perform technical reviews of proposed works.
- Coordinate submissions for Building Control compliance.
- Manage the design process and information release schedules.
- Contribute to procurement processes through design input and review.
- Assist in compiling O&M Health and Safety files.
- Offer design and technical support to project management teams.
- Identify and advise on value engineering opportunities.
- Adhere to company quality, environmental, and safety standards.
- Foster strong relationships with external parties and promote internal teamwork.
- Ensure department operations align with company health and safety policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
- Support team development through guidance, feedback, and training opportunities.
- Undertake any additional duties relevant to the Design Manager role.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience in engineering or architecture.
- Previous experience managing design teams.
- Familiarity with company policies and health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project planning, management, and budgeting.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
