Salary: £24k - £26k p/annum plus benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday, days only
The role
As a Development Technician, you will assist in developing new products and approving raw materials. You will be supported by more senior Development Chemists and if you are performing well, you will be promoted to a Development Chemists role within a year. We are looking for recently graduated Chemists with and interest in Formulation Chemistry. This role is based in a manufacturing environment and would suite someone who enjoys being busy and is open to learning.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in developing new formulations.
- Screen new raw materials from suppliers and test them in existing formulations
- Supervise production batches as required
- Produce weekly reports on projects and raw material testing
- Monitor the quality of and test production batches as required
- Assist in general duties
- Encourage safe working practices to ensure that the Company's health and safety standards are maintained
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in the lab
Person specification
- Degree in Chemistry or a related subject
- Knowledge of specifications, regulations and technical writing would be useful
- Is proactive
- Is good at problem solving
- Has good attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach
- Ability to work on multiple projects and issues simultaneously to meet deadlines
- Is computer literate
- Has excellent communication skills
