Development & Test Engineer – Weymouth, Dorset – Permanent up to £40,000

POSITION SUMMARY
Undertake material development engineering project/support tasks as defined by the Development Lead in line with the Company technology development roadmap. Achieve planned tasks and actively help define the programme of testing and evaluation. Skilled in Electromechanical Systems development and maintenance. Employ techniques through technical project planning, equipment and test facility definition, development and manufacture of test and support systems, support, and maintenance through life. Coordination with cross-functional teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertake and support development of testing facilities in accordance with company standards.
- Develop electromechanical and logic system programming to provide the most cost effective and efficient testing and analysis solutions that satisfy design to cost and design for manufacture best practice.
- Follow technology roadmap for development and documentation of test facility development.
- Support customer meetings and requirement specification reviews and other meetings as required.
- Support Production and Quality Assurance in resolving production challenges and provide solutions to ensure conformance.
- Utilise Lean Principles to improve the product, process flow, build cycle and waste reduction.
PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant degree qualification and/or equivalent industry experience
- Understanding of CAD and CAM
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Strong problem-solving ability applied through a practical approach
- Continuous Improvement, zero defect and customer focused mind-set
- A good team player with a flexible attitude to work load
