Job Title:DevOps Data Engineer

DevOps Data Engineer: The Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team work in a fast-paced data delivery environment, with multiple workstreams developing data deliveries to the Centralised data platform (CDP). Due to the number of squads potentially working on the same data there is a need for a DevOps Data engineer to cover the following:
· Review upcoming or current developments to make sure development clashes are identified and managed accordingly.
· Link in with the different delivery roles within EDS (Data analysts, modellers, engineers, testers and business SME's) making them aware of potential, or known, data clashes.
· Review EDS roadmaps from release perspective
· Link in with project release managers around upcoming releases and also update and attend CAB forum
· Report to EDS leadership view of delivery roadmap
Main Responsibilities as DevOps Data Engineer:
· Maintain release roadmap to the CDP making sure all developments do not create release clashes but also all dependant releases have the time to go through the release process.
· The maintenance of the CI/CD approach, making sure releases are done as Minimum viable products or as close as possible, keeping EDS as true to Agile deliveries as possible.
· Make sure each role has the level of detail required by the previous development role (release packs)
· Creation of roadmap report for EDS leadership awareness as well as Data platform line management.
· Main link into release managers and CAB forum for wider business awareness of EDS deployments.
· Review of release process for performance gains or to enhance the current release process.
· Facilitate the Scrum masters with the scrum ceremonies (Scrums, refinements, retrospectives, sprint planning)
· Coordinate release activity over all EDS development squads.
· Releasing deployments through each environment when required, ensuring right version of code in required environments
· Highlight risk and issues relevant for the release
· Produce relevant release documentations as needed
Skills and experience you need as DevOps Data Engineer:
· Maintain release roadmap to the CDP making sure all developments do not create release clashes but also all dependant releases have the time to go through the release process.
· The maintenance of the CI/CD approach, making sure releases are done as Minimum viable products or as close as possible, keeping EDS as true to Agile deliveries as possible.
· Make sure each role has the level of detail required by the previous development role (release packs)
· Creation of roadmap report for EDS leadership awareness as well as Data platform line management.
· Main link into release managers and CAB forum for wider business awareness of EDS deployments.
· Review of release process for performance gains or to enhance the current release process.
· Facilitate the Scrum masters with the scrum ceremonies (Scrums, refinements, retrospectives, sprint planning)
· Good understanding and working experience with Azure DevOps, and Data Platform systems.
· Highly collaborative who can work with multiply disciplinary team.
