Job description

As the Matron to Staff Nurse you’ll be working as part of the community Partnership with Frimley NHS system in Farnham.  DATC deliver a variety of services to the local population of Northeast Hants and Surrey, services provided include a one stop style assessment for older adults called a Comprehensive Geriatric assessment. Our aim is to improve patient outcomes, quality of life and support with anticipatory care needs.

DATC have a multidisciplinary team that work together to provide a holistic assessment of patient’s needs. We work collaboratively with our partners in the wider MDT such as GPs, acute hospital services and community HCP's. We have access to a variety of diagnostic investigations.

We also provide a Palpitations pathway, offering 24 hour and 7-day ECG monitors to patients aged 18 and over. 

We are also proud to deliver a therapy lead Parkinson group and will shortly be introducing a therapy lead falls group.

Main ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Nurse you will develop strong team working within the wider Diagnostic and Treatment Centre , liaising with the Administrator and Clinician.


To participate as a team member to ensure that patients receive a friendly, efficient, and effective service.
To perform technical aspects of nursing care: ECG recording, urinalysis , glucose monitoring
To abide by current professional standards
To ensure the highest standard of courtesy with all members of the public and multidisciplinary team
To maintain accurate patient records adhering to professional guidelines
To have a positive and participative attitude to change and a flexible approach to work.
To participate in team objectives and service development, team meeting s and audits.
All employees have a duty of care for their own and colleagues/visitors’ health and safety and are required to follow all relevant health and safety Policies and procedures and to be conversant with these.
To comply with mandatory and statutory training as per Trust and apply this to working practice.
To comply with all National and organisational policies, standards and guidelines and ensure that colleagues are aware of these.
Be prepare to take the lead in new developments in the department

The Ideal CandidateYou will have a nursing diploma/degree and hold a valid NMC registration. Minimum 3-year post reg experience and previous community experience would be desirable, but not essential. 


Care of the older adult experience would be beneficial.
Strong ability to communicate by written , oral and electronic.
Delivery of evidence-based practice and ability to apply theory to practice.
Good presentation and friendly manner and ability to motivate others and promote a professional customer care approach.
