I’m currently looking for a Web Accessibility Engineer / Consultant to work with an eCommerce/Tech Giant, based in Bishopsgate, Central London.
You will be working with mixed teams of consultants, Developers and Engineers, who work throughout the businesses from the inception of web/mobile projects through to deployment.
You will be auditing sites and internal web apps, advising on accessibility, setting standards and helping to put processes in place to ensure that the team’s ongoing and future development produces world class, fully accessible sites/apps.
You will need to show your ability to consider user impact, provide seamless knowledge of WCAG Success criteria and have the ability to provide code examples/fixes from memory and previous experience.
Projects will vary depending upon the needs of the teams you are working with and therefore, we look for a hybrid skill set so that you can work on technical elements of the role and be equally comfortable providing consultancy on accessibility matters.
Experience required:
- Expert knowledge and experience of accessibility and web standards, WCAG 2.1+, W3C, WAI-ARIA.
- Proven experience conducting full Accessibility Audits to AA standard.
- Experience using a range of assistive technology tools such as JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver.
- Proven front end development skills – Semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript (to effectively read code and develop/present code examples and prototypes).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and work across a range of teams within a global business.
