Job description

Salary: National up to £80,500 and London up to £90,000 per annum

Are you interested in making a real difference in the fascinating and fast-moving world of Digital Assets policy and to shape the future regulatory regime for crypto as well as developing an in-depth knowledge of the sector.

What you will be doing?

You will be working in the heart of the innovative and fast-moving world of crypto, where we are currently designing the regulatory regime for crypto assets, working closely with the Government, managing the Digital Assets Policy Team. You will be managing a team delivering significant projects, and developing new regulatory regimes, as well as playing a key role coordinating the development of crypto policy across the FCA and inputting heavily into international crypto policy.

In addition, you will:

  • Be part of the departmental management team for Market Analysis and Policy – Payments and Digital Assets and contribute to the development and delivery of our work around Digital Assets
  • Manage material workstreams to shape and develop various aspects of Digital Assets Policy, working closely with the existing crypto policy team
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and manage a high performing team through effective recruitment, performance management and development of staff from diverse backgrounds and of various levels

The skills and experience you will have

We are a signatory to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, should they meet the minimum criteria for a role.

Minimum

  • The successful candidate will hold or will be required to obtain Security Clearance (SC) level vetting at a minimum. This requires at least two years of UK address history and other checks
  • Experience of policy making within a Regulatory or Government body
  • Evidence of people management, including experience of building and maintaining high performing teams

Essential

  • An understanding of the Digital Assets sector including, key products, schemes, systems, and the roles played by various firms and institution
  • An ability to consider complex information and contribute to the development and delivery of policy
  • Excellent organisational skills with a capability to manage a variety of priorities and issues
  • High standard of problem solving and strategic thinking with sound judgement
  • A broad thinker with an analytical mind-set and a risk-based approach to making judgements
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with a clear ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Willingness to learn and develop, taking on new responsibilities and adopting a flexible and pragmatic approach to your work
  • Good understanding of the Financial Services Industry
