Job description

Exciting opportunities have arisen to join our open learning teams delivering key digital support to the public.

Based in Coatbridge Library you will have the opportunity to make a difference to people in our local communities by providing and delivering key digital support, including; supporting members of the public who are searching for and applying for jobs, completing benefits claims, developing basic digital skills, supporting customers who require access to digital services in order to keep connected with family and friends and those who are suffering from low mental health and require support.

Educated to Standard Grade, National 4 level which must include English, you will also hold ECDL and will have SQA Assessor and Verifier Units (D32/33/34 or A1 and V1or L9 & D 9 and L11 & D11 SQA) or equivalent. You will have previous experience working with the public in a customer focused environment, previous experience of staff supervision and will have the ability to support and assist service users with a range of ICT packages and platforms. Experience of working in a public library environment is desirable.

To be a success in this role, you will require excellent IT and Communication skills coupled with excellent people skills and a positive approach to helping others.

The successful candidate will require a satisfactory Disclosure Scotland check.

This is a temporary contract until 31/03/2025.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
