Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Location: Derby, DE65 6FH.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8.30am-5.30pm. Working occasional evenings/Saturdays is required for events.

The Role

The school provides truly life-changing bursary places to children who have the potential, but lack the financial means, to access a world class education at a leading co-educational independent day and boarding school.
With an ambitious development plan to see the school through to its 470th anniversary in 2027 and beyond, the School is looking for a dynamic, creative and resourceful Digital Communications &Events Executive.
Quality of communication is critical to the success of these activities and requires creative flair, attention to detail and a passion for content creation. The role reports to the Development Director.
Skills &Qualifications
- Social media-savvy with an aptitude for content creation and an eye for design
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to articulate messages clearly.
- Aptitude for working with various digital systems including CRM (e.g. Salesforce), website, communications platform (e.g. Mailchimp) and event ticketing platform (e.g. Litle Box Office)
- In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Self-starter with superb organisational and project planning skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels.
- Educated to degree/diploma or equivalent level.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, schedule and post timely social media content to increase followers and engagement.
- on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter)
- Create and curate engaging text, graphic, photo and video content tailored to audience.
- Engage with alumni Club Leads to amplify specific interest groups, e.g. the OR Football Club
- Manage comments, messages and requests from followers.
- Track, analyse and report on social media engagement metrics.
- Source, compile, edit and review articles and photos for the annual printed alumni magazine 'The Arch’, and manage production and distribution.
- Produce the termly 'OR News’ email update.
- In conjunction with the website development agency:
- Conduct review and optimise the overall navigation, look & feel and functionality of the site.
- Integrate and streamline processes such as updating personal details, event bookings and e-newsletters between the website and other platforms (database, event checking, comms)
- Keep pages up to date with timely and engaging content, news and relevant information.
- Create emails and event invitations as required, using Canva/Mailchimp
- Work with external design agencies/printers in the production of other marketing materials, including brochures and banners.
- Write and send greetings cards to alumni on special occasions such as milestone birthdays.
- Monitor and manage the OR Society email inbox.
- Respond in a timely manner to phone queries, emails and letters.
