Job description

This is a critical and very exciting time for the Alzheimer’s Research UK brand. We launched our new brand and a powerful new brand campaign in 2023, and we are ambitious in our plans to get more people than ever to join our movement and take a stand for a cure.

The Brand Manager will play a crucial role in the strategy, planning, development and implementation of brand activity across the charity. Leading on the delivery of award-winning brand campaigns, the role will be key to driving growth across brand, fundraising and engagement.

Working closely with the Head of Brand and the wider Brand department, this role will put the Alzheimer’s Research UK brand at the heart of everything we do, developing the brand strategically, driving forward campaigns, and identifying and managing opportunities to align across the organisation.

The Brand Manager will liaise across the whole organisation, working particularly closely with key contacts across Marketing and Fundraising, Communications and Policy.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, or on return of the substantive post holder, to cover a period of maternity leave.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead the planning and delivery of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s key brand campaigns, working with internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver on time and on budget.
  • Work closely with the Head of Brand to develop and deliver the organisation-wide brand strategy, driving engagement across the charity.
  • Act as an internal brand consultant across the organisation, collaborating with teams to bring to life the brand in their products and channels.
  • Manage the coordination of integrated campaign moments across the charity, ensuring consistent look and feel, aligned messaging and maximised brand opportunities.
  • Inspire and engage colleagues internally, delivering internal communications and training to ensure that the brand is alive, understood and implemented.
  • Drive forward planning to ensure that plans are co-ordinated, regularly reviewed, and measured effectively.
  • Be a day-to-day contact for external agencies and suppliers including creative and media agencies.
  • Work with the wider Brand department to ensure efficient forward communications planning.
  • Work with the Insight team to track and evaluate brand health and the impact of brand campaign activity.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in a brand, marketing or communications role.
  • Experience of leading multi-channel brand or marketing communications campaigns with a good knowledge of the full marketing mix.
  • Proven experience in project planning, management and delivery.
  • Experience of working with external agencies, such as brand, creative and media.
  • Experience of developing communications content, including messaging and brand development.
  • Experience of measuring and reporting on brand health and campaign performance.
  • The ability to work at pace, delivering multiple complex projects to meet specified deadlines.
  • An energetic and collaborative approach to work, bringing people together to deliver projects.
  • Clear and concise communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to cut through complexity.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with a range of stakeholders at all levels and get buy-in to new ideas.
  • Understanding of the range of media channels and platforms used for brand marketing.
