Strategic Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
- It is anticipated that the Chief Digital and Information Officer will work closely within the Leadership Team to shape and further develop this role as well as the associated transformation agenda to deliver a brilliant and co-ordinated digital service.
- The strategic responsibilities include:
Digital Strategy
- Develop a technology strategy that supports, influences, and optimises overall business strategy
- Further develop and deliver the council's overall digital strategy and be its senior sponsor
- Drive business change to improve citizen outcomes and organisational effectiveness through better use of digital and technology
- Ensure digital and technology services support overall improvement and recovery plans, including realisation of cost savings
- Develop and lead effective governance for the use of generative AI and other emergent technologiesBusiness Partnering
- Lead digital transformation by working collaboratively with other Directors and building strong business partnering with other services
- Foster a culture of digital innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement
- Lead the organisation to work more collaboratively, embedding a product and design focus on digital and data
- Lead a more agile approach to the development of digital solutions for business needs.
- Ensure digital and technology development resources are focused on the most valuable opportunities and activities
- Lead the development of a more commercially intelligent approach to the use of data and technology
Job details:
- 6 months
- £800 - £1000 per day
- Inside IR35
- Hybrid, on-site 2 to 3 days a week (Birmingham area)
- Start asap in March
- Local / Central Government experience is highly desirable.
