Role: Digital Forensic Analyst

Hours: 37 Per week (Full-Time) Office based
Contract: We are currently recruiting for succession planning for future roles.
We are recruiting for Digital Forensic Analysts to join our succession planning list for future roles. This is an rare opportunity for anyone who has experience in either an investigative or IT based background and is looking to use their expertise to support and safeguard the public.
The focus of the role is to provide the Force resource for the recovery, analysis and production of digital related evidence.
You will Recovers, analyses and produces evidence from computers, mobile phones and related devices in accordance with national guidelines ensuring all evidence is treated with the greatest amount of confidentiality and to store the evidence in the appropriate way, enabling it to be presented as evidence for the senior investigating officers when needed.
As a Digital Forensic Analyst, you will Liaises with other agencies as appropriate, mobile and computer hardware and software suppliers, Government agencies (local and national), other police forces and law enforcement bodies, professional bodies, commercial concerns, Internet and other communication systems providers and academic institutions to exchange relevant information and best practice.
This role will involve the post holder encountering a nature of sensitive, graphic and destressing cases and the post holder may be required to attend court to present evidence and information in relation to investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains and updates case management systems to ensure that case activity and exhibit continuity is recorded in an accurate and timely manner.
Recovers and analyses digital evidence from a range of computer related devices and produces evidential reports in relation to that evidence.
Provides advice and assistance to other members of the force in respect of the seizure, submission and analysis of digital exhibits.
Attends all relevant training.
Updates and maintains knowledge through training, current case law, procedural rulings and other sources of Digital Forensics related material.

What the role requires:
Is expected to attend and pass CSDRA & CSMPF courses at the College of Policing
Will have previously worked in an IT related field or have a demonstrated knowledge in the related fields of programming, networks, server/storage, systems or similar.
Is able to write clear, concise and well-balanced reports.
Has previous experience working in a Digital Forensics’ lab in either law enforcement or the commercial sector.
Must have a good understanding of windows based operating systems & competent in the use of proprietary MS office software.
Carries out tasks in an accurate and methodical manner with an eye for detail.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to prioritise workload.
Hold a full valid UK Driving License
