Become a Digital Learning Designer

We are looking for a creative, dedicated and driven candidate seeking an opportunity to be creative and work within the exciting world of Digital Learning Design.

As an Apprentice Digital Learning Designer, you will embark on a transformative learning journey to develop the skills and expertise needed to create engaging and impactful Digital learning materials.

You will gain hands-on experience in instructional design, multimedia production, and educational technology integration.

As an Apprentice Digital Learning Designer , you will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks and projects that will expand your skills and knowledge in Digital learning design. Here's what your typical day-to-day responsibilities may look like:

  • Collaboration and Planning:

    • Participate in meetings with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to discuss project requirements, learning objectives, and design strategies.

    • Assist in brainstorming sessions to generate ideas for engaging and innovative Digital learning solutions.

  • Content Development and Production:

    • Develop multimedia content, including e-learning modules, videos, animations, and simulations, using industry-standard authoring tools.

    • Apply instructional design principles to create content that promotes active learning, learner engagement, and knowledge retention.

  • Accessibility and Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that Digital learning materials comply with accessibility standards and guidelines to ensure inclusivity for all learners.

    • Conduct quality assurance testing to identify and address any issues related to functionality, usability, and accessibility.

    • Collaborate with team members to implement feedback and make iterative improvements to the content based on user testing and evaluation.

  • Technology Integration and Maintenance:

    • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technology platforms.

    • Explore new technologies and tools to enhance the design and delivery of Digital learning experiences.

    • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to users as needed.

  • Professional Development:

    • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and webinars to enhance your skills in Digital learning design, instructional technology, and multimedia production.

    • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in the field of Digital learning design through self-directed learning and professional development activities.

  • Documentation and Communication:

    • Document project requirements, design specifications, and development processes to ensure clarity and consistency.

    • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, share insights, and address any concerns or challenges that may arise.

  • Project Management and Time Management:

    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines to ensure timely delivery of Digital learning materials.

    • Adhere to project timelines and milestones, communicating any potential delays or issues to project leads or managers proactively.

  • Creativity: Demonstrates a creative mindset and the ability to think outside the box when designing engaging and innovative Digital learning experiences. Capable of generating fresh ideas and approaches to address learning objectives and engage learners effectively.

  • Attention to Detail: Pays close attention to detail and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. Ensures accuracy and consistency in all aspects of Digital learning material development, including content creation, multimedia production, and quality assurance testing.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Possesses strong problem-solving skills and the ability to overcome challenges and obstacles encountered during the design and development process. Adapts quickly to changing requirements and finds creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Communication Skills: Communicates effectively and professionally with team members, stakeholders, and end-users. Listens actively, asks questions to clarify understanding, and articulates ideas and concepts clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Works well collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing ideas, sharing feedback, and supporting colleagues to achieve common goals. Demonstrates respect, empathy, and inclusivity in interactions with others.

Training for this qualification will be provided by ourselves at SCCU Group, an Ofsted good training provider. Our tuition is all delivered in the workplace and bespoke to your particular role. Dependent on the learner's prior knowledge.

Working Week and Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Salary: £22,500 per annum
