Delivering World-Class Projects.

We're really lucky in DWP to work across on a range of projects which affect children and families, everyone from working-age to retirements, people who need support with health and disability, and massive transformational stuff like Universal Credit.

There are few other organisations which offer such diversity in terms of the scale and nature of projects you'll work on.

Our expert multidisciplinary teams - engineers, architects, researchers, analysts and more - are driven by a unique purpose. We have with a one-off chance to work in a unique context on stuff that matters.

You'll need to have the Digital Project management skills own and manage big, complex projects. That means tracking budgets and progress, as well as creating team dynamics that work and a culture you can be proud of.

You'll take the lead on managing relationships - that includes with colleagues, senior stakeholders and suppliers. And you know how to communicate with all those people.

You'll be part of a brilliant Digital Project management community. We'll support you as you grow your skills and your careers. And you'll have the same chance to help others, sharing your ideas and knowledge through coaching, mentoring and conversation.

Your essential skills and experience:

  • Can demonstrate they have taken full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of a number of different Digital Projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines).
  • Can demonstrate effective project controls to demonstrate the health of the projects they are responsible for and react accordingly to the information gathered.
  • Experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships to shape the outcomes of a project, considering different individual needs, views, and ideas.
  • Experience of building team dynamics and identifying ways to improve the way the team is working.
  • Communicate in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles and tools to maximise and check understanding and impact.

Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll be based in your choice of one of our brilliant digital hubs in Manchester, Blackpool, Leeds, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.

We also have all the tools and tech to work flexibly. We operate a hybrid working model with some time at home and some time in the office.

We offer competitive pay of up to £43,347 per annum.

You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 27.1%, worth up to £11,747 a year.

You'll get a generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising to 31 over time.

Plus all the usual bank holidays, and the option to take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi leave.

We have a benefits package built around your work-life balance, which includes:

  • Flexible working, flexi hours and flexi days
  • Hybrid working: some time in a hub with the team, some time at home
  • Family-friendly policies
  • Time off for volunteering and charitable giving
  • Bring your authentic self to work with 'I Can Be Me in DWP'
  • Discounts and savings on shopping, fun days out and more
  • Interest-free loans to buy a bike or a season ticket
  • Working in an award-winning environment and culture
  • Professional development, coaching, mentoring and career progression opportunities
