Following a prolonged period of growth and increased market share, and with a growing annual procurement spend exceeding £1bn, they are now seeking ambitious and driven procurement specialists to help transform their Direct Procurement function towards best-in-class.

As a Direct Procurement Category Buyer, you will join an established procurement team and take on a global supplier base stretched over 4 continents, to evaluate and adapt their processes to meet and grow customer demand: To achieve this, you will:

• Assist in the development and implementation of procurement management strategies across all categories to maximize efficiency and streamline the current supply base.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholder to develop new strategic sourcing methods to maximize commercial benefit.
• Support contractual negotiations to drive procurement cost reduction.
• Join their mission in global development by managing multiple procurement projects to meet their 5-year plan.

This is a Direct Procurement Category Buyer position, and consequently will involve building, developing, and maintaining global supplier relationships while also challenging the existing strategic sourcing methods through collaboration with internal stakeholders to achieve marginal success.

As such, you must have significant exposure to the procurement process. This ideally would be through working on multiple global manufacturing projects, as you must possess exceptional market knowledge to understand the supply base. You will have a proven track record of building supplier relations and implementing appropriate strategies to maximize commercial success.
