Are you a Director of English or Head of English looking for a new challenge from September 2024? This outstanding secondary school in North Birmingham is currently recruiting for a driven Director of English to lead a high performing English department that is in the top 5% nationwide for both progression and attainment. As Director of English, you will be accountable for the day-to-day operation of the English department, maintaining the outstanding standards of teaching, training and managing staff, and mentoring English ECT’s. You will also be working closely with the SLT to ensure that school visions and values are met.
This role requires a Head of English or a Director of English who has previous experience running a high performing department. Facilities are outstanding and you will have access to a fantastic range of resources that are shared across the trust. Leadership are committed to excellence and lead by example, going above and beyond to ensure that each child has access to an exceptional education. This role requires a QTS English Teacher who has previous experience running a successful English department.

• Leading a successful department with high standards.
• Attaining outstanding results that this school has achieved on a regular basis.
• Inspiring both staff and students to be the best that they can be.
• Working alongside the SLT to ensure standards are met across the school.
• Mentoring staff members, including ECT’s.

You must:

• Hold Qualified Teaching Status (QTLS).
• Have experience as Head of English or Director of English.
• Enjoy teaching and be passionate about your subject.
• Be ambitious and driven to achieve brilliant results.
