Cruse – Director of Income Generation and Marketing
Location: Hybrid (home and central office).
Salary: Circa. £75k per annum.
Contract: Permanent, full-time hours.
Cruse, the UK’s leading bereavement charity, is seeking a strong and motivating leader to work across income generation and communications to raise funds and increase awareness of their cause.
Cruse’s vision is that of a world where everyone grieving is supported, respected and understood. The charity was founded over 64 years ago, initially to support widows, but now supporting anyone grieving, no matter when the person died. They work towards this through a mission to support people through one of the most painful times in life with bereavement support, information and campaigning, and provision of expert advice and information on their website, social media, over the phone and in person.
The Director of Income Generation and Marketing will direct and coordinate income generation activity from all sources including statutory, community, corporate, trusts, individual giving, legacies and major donors. The role will have a strong focus on developing the charity’s trading offer and the paid for services they provide to businesses, commissioners and grieving clients. The post-holder will also be responsible for leading on the development and delivery of internal and external communications, placing great emphasis on building excellent relationships with supporters, staff and volunteers at Cruse to achieve the best outcomes. The post sits on the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to strategic development, planning, policy and decision-making.
The ideal candidate for this role will have significant experience in a senior income generation and/or marketing position with a proven track record of net income growth and strong budget management. You will have experience of a broad range of fundraising and marketing techniques and disciplines. Experience of developing and rolling out trading products would be an advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be combined with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and work on your initiative, with a dedication to results. A self-starter, you will have a positive attitude to work and have an understanding of the impact of bereavement on individuals and families.
