Role: Director of Finance (Section 151 Officer)
Type: Interim 6 months
Salary: up to £1,200 per day
Location: Fully Remote or Hybrid options
Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Director of Finance (Section 151 Officer) for our Local Authority client.
To assist the Chief Executive in implementing an operational plan that addresses the City's future requirements, collaborating with outside organisations and partners to create a dynamic community where opportunity and success are shared as well as an inclusive economy.
Key responsibilities for the Director of Finance (Section 151 Officer) are;
- Determine that the Council has a medium-term financial plan that fulfils the Corporate Strategy while staying within budget
- Ensure high-quality financial guidance, governance, and leadership for the entire council by serving as the head of profession for all staff members
- Make sure the Council's financial investments are maintained and that prudent treasury management practices are followed
- Provide a balanced budget position by transparently monitoring and reporting the ongoing budget status

The Ideal candidate for the Director of Finance (Section 151 Officer) will have;
- Fully Qualified
- Possess prior expertise serving as a large council's mandated Chief Financial (Section 151) Officer
- Capable of exhibiting an in-depth comprehension of municipal governance and the monetary and regulatory framework within which it functions
- Experience of leading diverse activities across multiple service areas.
