Salary: €150,000 - €175,000 plus Bonus, Pension, Health & Stock Options

Our client is a global company who have seen significant growth through acquisition and diversification into new sectors recently. This company rarely hire at this level so it is a unique opportunity.

This is a senior management level role where the successful applicant will be working closely with the executive management team and decision makers so will be involved in all acquisitions, disposals or anything that will impact the financial statements from technical accounting related perspective.
Who should apply?
Candidate should be practice trained finance professionals with a minimum of 10 years PQE in industry or practice with strong technical accounting skills. From speaking with our client, we have put together potential backgrounds of perspective candidates:

• Head of Financial Reporting in MNC's, PLC's and Large Corporates
• Senior Financial Reporting professionals who are strong technically and looking for a new challenge
• Senior Manager/Directors working in audit with a Top 6 firm
• Senior Manager/Directors working in FAAS with a Top 6 firm

Other attributes that we have identified below would be extremely beneficial but not essential:

• Proven track record in project management with an ability to manage multiple work streams, staff and deadlines.
• Ability to research a complex accounting issue not seen before and conclude on the correct treatment.
• Prior experience of working under IFRS, US GAAP and Irish GAAP
• Good communication skills in both providing insight into work and explaining complex issues in an easy to understand way.
• Willingness to get sleeves rolled up and directly review and work on matters.
• Good team player, who is willing to help assist and train the team overall.
• Understanding of external audit process, finance risks, who can advise the company and lead the external audit process, including management of other advisors.

Role and Reporting Lines
Reporting to the Executive Management Team, the role will be very broad to involve:

• Take on a significant leadership role in the team, including team development and mentoring.
• Lead a number of finance related projects such as implementation of new accounting standards, valuation of intangible assets for acquisitions and internal control framework reviews
• Drive excellence in the groups external reporting (preparation of Financial statements / researching and advising the company on complex accounting matters / purchase accounting for acquisitions)
• Respond to queries from finance team on process improvement and accounting issues on new accounting transactions.
• Accounting for complex funding structures, derivates and other financial instruments.
