Job description

Are you a creative and visionary fundraising professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join this new independent, national civil rights organisation created to dismantle systemic racism in Britain as the Director of Fundraising and Programmes.

Your will drive our fundraising strategy and cultivate strategic partnerships. As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in advancing our mission and ensuring the sustainability of our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising and Income Generation: Lead the development and execution of our fundraising strategy, ensuring the achievement of income targets across diverse streams. Provide oversight of income reports and identify opportunities for growth.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture key partner relationships, particularly with corporate entities, to diversify and expand our funding sources. Assess partners against our ethical guidelines and ensure alignment with our mission.

  • Program Oversight: Provide guidance and oversight for the delivery of our programs, including ensuring compliance with regulations and the development of necessary agreements and governance structures.

  • Organizational Leadership: Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance long-term planning and organizational processes. Contribute to the organizational and partnership strategy to drive mission-aligned growth.

  • Team Management: Lead and inspire Fundraising and project management teams, fostering a culture of high performance and ensuring the successful execution of initiatives.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Demonstrated success in meeting fundraising targets, with expertise in trusts, foundations, corporate, or high-value donor fundraising. Experience in strategic planning and partnership development is essential.

  • Abilities: Proven ability to establish and maintain senior-level partner relationships, coupled with strong team leadership and project management skills. Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism is paramount.

  • Skills and Knowledge: A deep understanding of the race equality field and the ability to leverage this knowledge in fundraising efforts. Expertise in at least one fundraising area (trusts, corporate, high-value donors) is required, along with the ability to influence change through effective partnership working.

Benefits:

  • Flexible, hybrid working from day one.
  • 5% employer pension contribution.
  • Generous leave, maternity, and parental leave package.
  • Strong focus on wellbeing.
  • Opportunity to be part of the mission to dismantle systemic racism.

If you're ready to drive change and play a crucial role in the organisation's mission, apply now to join the team. Together, you can create a more equitable society where every voice is heard and valued.
