Fundraising & Marketing Officers
Location: North, Midlands and South of England
Salary: £25,000-£30,000
Contract: Full time, permanent
Closing Date: 4th March 2024 (we may close vacancy early if sufficient applications are received)
We are seeking 3 Fundraising & Marketing Officers, to join in an energetic role within a successful growing team. The Fundraising & Marketing Officers will be based in the respective regions, where there will be plenty of opportunity, to reach out to wider communities, including local businesses, schools and local organisations, along with taking part in organising and participating in local fundraising and other events.
This role calls for someone to forge excellent relationships in the community and to embark on new challenges, to effectively take part in fundraising and other events.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
• To be responsible for selected fundraising and marketing campaigns and activities.
• To participate in community fundraising and other events organised by fundraising teams and/ or events team.
• Developing and implementing new relationships with a range of supporters/donors.
• Generating funds for the charity across a range of income streams.
• Being the main contact for fundraising events in the North/South/Midlands/ Scotland.
• Exploring new community-based events to attract audiences and engage existing supporters.
• Researching new funding opportunities from community and corporate supporters.
• Support the development of the fundraising strategy and annual plans.
• To research and keep up to date with current Fundraising, marketing and communication trends in the market (including researching other fundraising campaigns’/ packages/ asks of other faith-based & other charities) and suggest good practices to maximise UKIM’s income.
• To ensure fundraising, marketing and communication activities are cost effective, good business, and value for resources.
• To contribute in preparing relevant material (footage, case studies, props, etc.) in advance to ensure effective delivery.
• To plan successful activities and events in accordance to the fundraising and marketing strategy and work plan by effective coordination with other departments including Events Department.
• To be responsible for ensuring all income and expenditures are accurately recorded.
• To provide accurate income forecasts for the fundraising work plan.
• To ensure cost effectiveness and innovation in the implementation of the Fundraising, marketing and communication campaigns and activities.
• To ensure the department keeps accurate administrative records.
• To ensure the effective use of volunteers in all fundraising activities in coordination with the Events Department/ team.
• To ensure effective approaches are undertaken in the delivery of the fundraising campaigns.
• To be responsible for the implementation of all agreed fundraising and marketing campaigns for example Ramadhan, Qurbani and Emergency campaigns etc.
• To ensure evaluation reports are reviewed and recommendations are implemented accordingly.
• To assist in communicating effectively with other departments to coordinate and streamline all fundraising activities with the strategy of UKIM Relief and vice versa.
• To undertake field visits as and when necessary.
• To comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.
• To be willing and able to travel at short notice
• Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
Person Specification:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Proven Fundraising, marketing and events experience
• Experience in assisting with managing budgets
• Knowledge of varied funding sources and structures
• Knowledge of BME and faith-based communities
• Extensive knowledge of a wide range of Fundraising techniques
• Understanding of the Charity Act, Fundraising Regulator and other legislation effecting fundraising ventures
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Strong analytical skills
• Good IT skills
• Ability to write proposals and reports
• Ability to work well on own initiative
• Ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines and adapt to change
• Ability to establish relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a team environment and as a team player
• Commit to withhold the integrity and standards of UKIM, its values, approach and priorities.
