Director of Nursing & Clinical Practice

Provide leadership and direction to the nursing teams ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care. Oversee clinical governance, clinical risk management, and nursing care standards across the organisation. Maintain a strong understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 as amended 2007, Health and Social Care Act 2012, Health and Care Act 2022, Use of Force Act 2018, ensuring all practices are compliant. Regularly review and assess service provision, ensuring services are adaptive to the changing needs of patients and the community. Contribute to the development of mental health strategies, policies, and procedures. Develop a robust Nursing and Training strategy. Develop training needs analyses and ensure the delivery of comprehensive clinical training to nursing teams. Promote evidence-based practice through the facilitation of research and development. Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Engage with stakeholders, families, and patients to ensure patient-centred care. Work in partnership with other senior managers to develop and implement strategic plans. Ensure the efficient and effective use of resources, managing budgets and financial resources responsibly. Lead on Infection Control, Safeguarding, Restrictive Practice, Physical interventions and use of Force for the organisation, ensuring robust measures and practices are in place for the protection of vulnerable individuals and members of staff. Attend Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings when required, ensuring cohesive and integrated care strategies which demonstrate holistic patient care. Be part of the On Call rota and take on the responsibilities as required by the company.
