Our role is to engage with and listen to the patients and public of Wales. We do this by reaching out to people in their local communities, hearing their views and understanding their experiences of health and social care. We will feed back to decision-makers to help shape and influence future services.

A fantastic opportunity has become available at Llais for a Director of Operations, Band 8c, 37.5 hours per week.

This is a national role, based at any one of our Llais offices throughout Wales. We offer hybrid working, with both remote and office-based work.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable.

Main Duties of the job

The Director of Operations plays a key part in delivering Llais’ important role in giving a voice for people living in Wales in the design and delivery of their health and social care services.

Directly supporting the Strategic Director of Operations and Corporate Services and the Strategic Director of Organisational Strategy and Engagement in the day-to-day leadership, and management and delivery of the organisation’s strategy, plans and work programmes locally, regionally and nationally.

Support the design, development and delivery of a number of complex regional operational functions which are delivered by expert and multi skilled teams.

The role requires an experienced, senior, highly qualified, and competent professional with broad experience and a highly developed skill set in overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the organisation’s functions at a local and regional level. Key responsibilities include:

• Enabling the Board to meet its responsibilities for setting and ensuring delivery of the organisation’s strategic vision and direction and the development of a positive organisational culture
• Senior operational leadership and oversight of the delivery of the Board’s vision and priorities locally, regionally and nationally, operating a robust performance management framework to ensure delivery
• Assisting the Strategic Director of Operations and Corporate Services with the design, development, and delivery of the organisation’s digital, data and information technology infrastructure
• Assisting in the development and delivery of the organisation’s location and estates strategy
• Working flexibly as part of the senior management team
• Ensuring the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and sustainability are embedded throughout the organisation.
