Job description

The Heart of England Forest is an ambitious charity that will eventually create the largest new native forest in England. It is an organisation that will grow and change with and through its people. They want to create a culture that recognises the unique contribution of all staff members and, just as importantly, their volunteers and partners.

Harris Hill is delighted to be partnering with the Heart of England Forest and are looking for their first Director of People and Culture who will develop and deliver the charity’s people strategy for employees. They will lead on implementing a high-performance, collaborative and open culture and one in which the charity’s values can be seen in all of their activities.

If you are forward thinking with the skills, knowledge, and expertise to be able to create a forest for future generations, this could be the ideal role for you. You will understand long-term threats and opportunities from a people perspective that may impact strategic plans, whilst at the same time having attention to detail on the monitoring of the here and now. You will be responsible for ensuring that a comprehensive people development strategy is in place that enables the charity to provide a sustainable forest for the long-term benefit of People, wildlife and the environment.

Key details:

Role: Director of People and Culture

Location: Colletts Farm Office, Dorsington, Warwickshire, CV37 8AU, (with flexible/hybrid options) with regular travel in and around the Forest

Salary: Up to £64,000 per annum

Contract: Full time, permanent

Amongst other criteria, the successful candidate will have:

•        Solid background in HR, currently working in a growing environment

•        A relevant CIPD HR qualification (equivalent to CIPD level 7)

•        Complex ER case management experience, with excellent knowledge of employment law

•        Strategic understanding, and operational delivery, of People agendas and best in class practices covering all major areas of HR

•        Significant experience of leading organisations through organisational change with the ability to motivate and inspire others
