About the Service / Department
Hestia's Domestic Abuse services is made up of 31 refuges, community support and our Refuge Referral line. We operate across London and the South East, with refuges located in 7 London Boroughs.
The service provides emotional and practical support to women and children who are experiencing or at high risk of domestic abuse. We ensure that every woman we support has an up-to-date risk assessment and support plan, with Children and Family workers providing a support plan to young people tailored to their needs.
The Refuge Referral Line provides women and children with access to advice and information on refuge spaces available across London and the South East.
About the role
Lead and manage Hestia's domestic abuse services ensuring that excellent services are delivered including lead responsibility for delivering outcomes.
Ensure that services are delivered in a trauma informed and recovery focused way.
Work closely with Business Development to win tenders, retain existing contracts, develop new service models / approaches
Ensure services are delivered within agreed budgets and the performance of financial management is robust especially in relation to voids and arrears
Provide consultation and support to staff in emergencies out of hours and ensure that a robust on call service operates across operational services.
Collaborate on cross operational activities eg Safeguarding, operational policy / procedure, Trustee reporting development, relevant working groups.
Line Management responsibility including but not limited to Induction, supervision, and appraisal of direct reports.
Support the Senior Management Team both in organisational strategy and performance management.
Identify gaps in service provision and propose models for piloting/ meeting unmet needs.
Maintain and develop stakeholder relationships and represent Hestia appropriately. Provide cover for the other Directors in their absence.
Oversee all operational aspects of Hestia's relationship with relevant registered providers including management agreements.
About you
Management experience at a senior/director level with the capacity for substantial staff leadership.
Expansive experience in successful contract management and the management of complex budgets.
A thorough understanding of the legislation and good practice underpinning the robust delivery of domestic abuse services.
Significant experience of the legal framework and best practice for safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children.
Significant capacity to work with trauma and support staff to stay resilient and respond to need.
Extensive experience of successful negotiation internally and externally.
Substantial capacity and experience of delivering successful outcomes and positive service user experience.
A thorough understanding of the strategic environment in which domestic abuse services are being delivered.
A thorough understanding of the legislation and good practice underpinning the robust delivery of domestic abuse community services.
Expert knowledge and experience of the legal framework and best practice for safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children.
Ability to represent the organisation professionally and to a high standard.
Ability to conduct case management file audits and use the analysis to drive performance.
