Director, People Business Partnering

Exscientia is an AI-driven pharmatech company committed to discovering, designing and developing the best possible drugs in the fastest and most effective manner. Exscientia developed the first-ever functional precision oncology platform to successfully guide treatment selection and improve patient outcomes in a prospective interventional clinical study, as well as to progress AI-designed small molecules into the clinical setting.

Our pipeline demonstrates our ability to rapidly translate scientific concepts into precision-designed therapeutic candidates, with more than 15 projects underway. By designing better drugs, faster, we believe the best ideas of science can rapidly become the best medicines for patients.

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to lead our small PBP team across the globe (UK, US and Austria). You will play a crucial role in driving organisational success by implementing an efficient and globally appropriate Business Partnering approach. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders including, but not limited to, C-suite members, People team Centres of Excellence (Reward, People Operations, and L&D) and senior leadership teams.

Please note this is a hybrid role and regular travel is required to our offices in Oxford, UK, with occasional travel abroad. There is flexibility to work from home the remaining time. We are a flexible working organisation and we’re willing to consider various options which would provide similar contact time with the team.

You will have the opportunity to:

• Lead a small but international team of People Business Partners, setting the People Business Partnering approach and delivery with support from our VP, People.
• Directly partner with key C-Suite level partners to set the People strategy and direction.
• Coach Exec and Leadership Teams to create high-performing teams across the group.
• Own senior level ER caseload with support from the People Operations team.
• Lead global people projects and support the People Business Partners with delivery of projects both locally and globally.

Requirements

• Experience of People Business Partnering with senior stakeholders (ideally C-Suite and Exec level).
• Experience leading and implementing organisational design with evidenced beneficial outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams and implementing HR initiatives.
• Demonstrable track record of complex ER case management and resolution.
• Strong understanding of HR best practice and cultural nuances.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience working in a tech or science environment would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.
