Bunker Holding Group - fuelling the future
At Bunker Holding Group, we specialise in buying, selling and supplying marine fuel and lubricating oil to ships. With an ever-changing market, and our desire to move towards greener fuelling solutions, trading is becoming increasingly more complex. The Director of Product Development will be responsible for all development of IT solutions within Bunker Holding and for the overall IT management of a department consisting of 4 Development Managers and corresponding teams of 70 developers, architects, business analysts, scrum masters etc.
A strategic and strong leader with excellent communication- and stakeholder management skills
Bringing experience from a similar role, you have a strong business acumen and excellent communication skills, enabling you to proactively develop the IT Product Development organization, facilitate collaboration across your department and keeping us heading in the right direction. You will have a vital role in the management of IT, and as such you will take on a broad responsibility within the IT management team. The new Director of Product development will be responsible for ensuring proper design, development and communication of models, processes, and tools within your area, aligning to the overall strategy for IT in Bunker Holding. You have a seat on the portfolio board, at which you are championing the Product Development area. Challenging priorities, ensuring clear directions, and providing transparency into the development capacity and capabilities.
Furthermore, you will:
- Explore and build strong relationships with suppliers and provide strong vendor management.
- Ensure our organization follows standards and principles and develops these together with peers in IT management.
- Communicate closely with the rest of the management team, ensuring that the status, risk and challenges of our overall development activities are known in IT and among business stakeholders.
- Being an ambassador of IT, you build strong relationships and continuously have close dialogues with the business stakeholders.
- You will be responsible for a large part of the IT budget, and as such you can structure, analyze, optimize, and drive efficient financial management.

A visible people leader with strong stakeholder management skills and financial acumen
Besides being a positive people leader, you have sound experience with executing strategies, preferably through teams and functions across a large organisation. It is a huge advantage if you have done so in organisations undergoing large transitions. You should also have broad knowledge of IT development and operations. You are used to being a visible leader for stakeholders both internally as well as externally and thrive in engaging in various governance forums, finding solutions, and driving things forward.
In terms of your soft skills, you are ideally:
- Structured and analytical in your approach to change and development
- A strong stakeholder manager with high emotional intelligence and communication skills that induce trust and buy-in
- Team oriented in nature, and you enjoy collaborating across departments and borders and solving challenges together
