About the Role

Base Location: Perth, Inveralmond House

Salary: £55,573 - £63,643 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. Relocation packages for suitable candidates.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

The Distribution Control Engineer is at the forefront of cutting-edge technology in the energy distribution sector, responsible for the safe operation and monitoring of the electrical distribution network. This includes all voltages up to and including 33kV where you will need to manage infrastructure of critical national importance. We are seeking experienced Senior Authorised Field Engineers who are ready to take their expertise to the next level. Training opportunities are available and we currently operate a four day working work rota with a progressive route into shifts also a future option. The Control Engineer's main duties are:

- Monitor and control distribution networks using state-of-the-art SCADA systems.

- Collaborate with field teams to optimize network performance, troubleshoot issues, and respond to emergencies.

- Analyse real-time data to ensure consistent power supply and minimize downtime.

- Participate in training programs to enhance your technical knowledge and adapt to the control room environment.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Senior Authorised Field Engineer certification (or equivalent) with a strong track record in distribution network operations.

- Proficiency in SCADA systems and control room operations.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

- Strong communication skills to liaise with field teams, management, and other stakeholders.

- Have or are willing to work towards a HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Candidates for this role will be required to obtain vetting to SC level through UK Government. The criteria normally includes 5 years UK residency, further information can be found here: United Kingdom Security Vetting: Applicant - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
