Job description

We have a great opportunity for a Document Automation Specialist to join our Innovation team which is a key part of our Transformation and Project Management Team. In line with the firm's strategy and continued investment in this growth area, the Document Automation Specialistwill be part of a team involved in delivering cutting-edge solutions to our lawyers and clients.

Building on a number of successful automations using market leading Document Automation tools, we are looking to recruit a dedicated automator to be a subject matter expert to drive use of Document Automation to improve and enhance client service delivery. The role will involve owning and delivering Document Automation projects, maintaining existing automations, and providing comprehensive support in relation to Document Automation including developing best practice and knowledge sharing.

Our ideal candidate will be a natural problem solver who is a self-starter, used to working in a professional services environment, with experience of Document Automation and with a keen eye for detail. They will be a team-player able to work both collaboratively and autonomously.

Skills and experience:

  • Experience working with and excellent working knowledge of Document Automation technologies such as Contract Express or similar. Experience of HighQ would also be beneficial.
  • Able to understand law firm or other high performance business environments and deal competently and diplomatically with lawyers and business services professionals of all levels. Professional services experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of how legal work is delivered and the use of technology.
  • A motivated self-starter using initiative with a “can-do” attitude and the ability to optimise the performance of both technology and people, and with an ability to project manage Document Automation projects from start through to delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a professional approach and the ability to collaborate effectively, build relationships, knowledge share and clearly articulate and explain Document Automation solutions and requirements in non-technical terms.
  • Strong knowledge of technology and IT literate including MS Office, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and within a close knit team in a collegiate environment and develop positive working relationships with others involved in various roles in projects undertaken by the team.
  • Effective personal organisational and time management skills and the ability to juggle multiple demands and prioritise workloads.
  • An interest in innovation and technology, and be open to new ideas.

We value attitude over experience, so don't be put off if your experience is not an exact match but you think you are suitable for the role. Key for us is having some experience of working with and knowledge of Document Automation technologies.

The team is usually based in Bristol but we are open to the role being worked from our other offices (including on a hybrid basis). We follow a hybrid model to the way we work, which combines both working from our offices and from home.
