Money and Medals
Full-time, 41 hours per week
Fixed-term (36 months)
£28,868 per annum

About the role:

To catalogue the money and medals collection on the British Museum collections database.

Key areas of responsibility

  • To create, edit and amend digital object records for the money and medals collection of c.800,000 objects.
  • To support curators in cataloging of the collection and making it publicly accessible
  • To assist with enquiries from the public
  • To assist in the general day-to-day running of the department
  • To act as an advocate for the Museum
  • Other duties as assigned.

About you:

  • BA/BSc (or equivalent) in history or a related subject, or digital humanities or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience of digital collections databases and spreadsheets.
  • Some experience of working with a museum collection.
  • Open, effective communicator with good spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
