A traditional and busy household in Paris is on the hunt for a hard-working and experienced Domestic Couple to take charge of their household.
The client has a large family who takes pride of their home, so it is paramount that the couple are happy to muck in wherever is needed and carry out their duties to a 5* hotel standard.
The duties and responsibilities for the couple include but are not limited to:
Butler duties – FOH, dinner and drinks, service and organising dinner parties for the principals
Driving – running errands and dropping the children off at school (other members of staff within the household will also help out with this)
Gardening – making sure the garden is maintained and looks beautiful
Maintenance - managing maintenance repairs and calling in contractors (one of the candidates will need to speak French in order do this)
Housekeeping – managing 2 other housekeepers, deep cleaning, looking after antiques and all traditional housekeeping duties to a 5* standard
Managing Staff - liaising with the chef on the menu planning and ordering groceries. Also managing and working alongside other members of staff within the household
Pet care – walking and feeding the dog (other members of staff within the household will also help out with this)
The couple will be working within a team of five including a Butler (who has been there for 25 years), 2 housekeepers, a Chef and a Nanny.
The accommodation offered is separate from the family home located on the same street with a gorgeous view. It is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom flat with a living room and kitchenette. The role also offers a car for the couple.
Due to the nature of the role, the candidates will need to speak French or have a strong understanding of it. The household predominantly speaks French as well as English, however, all contractors will speak French.
The role is Wednesday to Sunday with Monday and Tuesday off. The hours will be flexible depending on how busy the day is. The client does travel a lot, so if they aren’t in residence, the couple from time to time won’t need to work over the weekend.
The ideal couple will be able to work smoothly within a team, cleanliness to the highest of standards and be proactive rather than reactive.
