DPD Delivery Driver - Small Parcels Only (Full-Time)

Last Mile Distribution Ltd is a high performing logistics company operating in Scotland and specialising in last mile delivery solutions.

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced self employed courier driver who will thrive in a fast paced environment, to join our growing team.

• Contract: DPD
• Location: Cambuslang
• Electric E-Lite route: Small Parcels Only
• Route Location: G & PA Postcodes (No city centre routes)
• Rate: £0.90 per successful drop + 5p excess parcel rate, paid every 4 weeks
• Avg stops: 120-150 per shift (once fully trained and can demonstrate capability of managing load, and being a reliable driver)
• Fully insured van given with fuel card at no cost (keep 100% of your earnings), for use during each shift and to place on charge at a local site at depot, or locally to you each night (Must have on transport to travel to and from charging point, or consistent access to a charger locally where you live)
• Tue- Sat shift pattern available
• 4-5 working days per week, 6 days during peak (Christmas period)
• Regular overtime available
• Shifts: 8-10 hours per day

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Reliably arriving at the depo for each shift 9.30-9.45am
• Scanning, loading and organising your route and parcels onto your van
• Co-ordinating with line manager for sign out and any issues throughout the day
• Completing set route in a safe, orderly and timely matter (within 1 hour delivery window)
• Returning to depo for debrief and unloading any undelivered parcels
• Charging electric van in time for next shift

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a professional manner, great customer service and communication skills
• Have a valid driver's license
• A compatible phone to use with the DPD delivery app
• A clean driving record: Have no more than 6 points on your driving license and no DR, DG. CD or IN related endorsements
• Be able to pass a basic disclosure check (one must be provided that is under 12 months old , or new application at a cost of £25 to the driver)
• At least 6 months to 1 year demonstrableexperience in a similar role
