We are the flagship site for the DS Smith Packaging site in the UK and have an opportunity for new colleagues to join our Transport team in Fordham under inspiring leadership team.
We are one of few sites to have our own fleet of Drivers operating throughout the mid-east counties of England from Fordham. You will join a team which has a range of shifts from Monday - Friday, Tuesday - Saturday & Sunday - Thursday whereby the salary reflects the shift pattern.

Areas of Responsibility
Key Accountabilities:
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles, including forklifts, tractor-trailers, and courier vans.
- Load and unload goods and materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Follow designated routes and schedules for efficient delivery of goods.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in accordance with customer requirements.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating a variety of vehicles, including manual transmission.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Strong attention to detail to accurately record delivery information.
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
Note: Additional qualifications may be required depending on the specific job requirements.
