Burman Recruitment are partnering with an large university based in London who are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Business Analyst to join their finance team. The Finance Business Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis, conducting performance evaluations, and identifying opportunities for process improvement within the university's financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Analyse financial data, trends, and variances to identify key performance drivers and areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations.

Business Partnering:

• Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders across the university to understand their financial needs and objectives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to department heads and project managers, providing guidance on financial matters and assisting in decision-making processes.

Process Improvement:

• Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks in existing financial processes and systems, and recommend solutions for streamlining operations and enhancing productivity.
• Implement best practices and tools to optimise financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Data Management:

• Maintain and enhance financial databases and systems to ensure accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of financial data.
• Develop and automate financial models and dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making and reporting.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Monitor compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures, and proactively identify and address potential risks.
• Support internal and external audits by providing relevant financial information and documentation as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience as a Finance Business Analyst or similar role, preferably in the higher education sector or related industry.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends.
• Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and analysis.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
