• Fitout & Drylining Specialist Contractor
• Permanent: Up to £70,000 + Package
• Based in Kings Norton, Birmingham

We are currently searching for a talented individual who is looking to join the commercial team in an ambitious Fitout & Drylining Contractor with UK wide reach. In this dual-purpose role you will be a senior attrition to the team with commercial scope from tender to completion.

The business is currently going through a growth phase due ongoing success in the market and support from repeat clients. The individual required is someone who wants to help the business achieve new heights and build on success.

The Role:

• Assess the viability and timeliness of project enquiries
• Clarify client needs and expectations
• Read construction drawings and take measurements
• Calculate the cost of materials, labour, and equipment
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers
• Compile bids for work and provide recommendations for cost reduction
• Oversee projects to ensure costs remain in line with forecasts
• Utilise relevant software such as Chalkstring, Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Adhere to risk assessments and health and safety requirements
• Stay up to date with the latest construction technology
• Liaise with construction managers, planners, and design teams
• Present bids to clients and answer their questions
• Prepare and submit quotations for work
• Track changes to design and construction work and adjust budget projections
• Select and source construction materials
• Measure and value work done on-site and submit applications for payment
• Process labour applications and approve payment to subcontractors
• Deal with financial and legal issues

The Person:

• Experience in quantity surveying and estimating in the Fitout/Drylining sector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., RICS) and qualifications in Quantity Surveying or related field preferred
