We are seeking a passionate DT Teacher to join our school in PL7 in a full time role stretching from after Easter until the end of the summer term with the possibility of going longer term/permanent if successful in the role! The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging DT curriculum content, with a particular emphasis on hands-on workshop activities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons, integrating practical workshop sessions to enhance student learning.
- Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independent thinking.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
- Utilise workshop equipment and resources effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and support for individual development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the DT curriculum and departmental initiatives.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Specialisation in Design and Technology or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering engaging DT lessons, with a focus on practical workshop activities.
- Strong knowledge of workshop equipment, tools, and materials relevant to the DT curriculum.
- Genuine desire to work with children.
