Duty Manager

Sue Ross Recruitment are working alongside a small local cafe business in the recruitment of an experienced Duty Manager. As the Duty Manager you will be responsible for the front of house operations, demonstrating a positive leadership style, developing front of house staff and ensuring customer satisfaction at all times.

Key responsibilities include;

• Manage a team of up to 6 people.
• Ensure the safety and security of the building at the end of each day.
• Ensure daily opening tasks are complete ready for service.
• Counting & recording the safe float in AM and PM – reporting to the business owner when necessary.
• Assess the trading conditions & manage staff labour budgets accordingly.
• Work with the kitchen staff to source relief staff to cover for any absences.
• Supervise and motivate the staff team ensuring all staff are trained appropriately.
• Liaise with the kitchen team to arrange specials and market accordingly.
• Maintain professional working relations with staff ensuring confidentiality of management information.
• Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and Food Hygiene System both front of house and kitchen, taking responsibility for corrective action.
• Monitor deliveries from suppliers making sure all delivery notes/invoices have been placed in the invoice box.
• Complete the handover diary for the next day.
• Monitor completion of the weekly cleaning rota.
