18 Months Maternity Cover, Fixed Term Contract or secondment opportunity for LBE staffs

  • We are looking for an Early Intervention officer for our Youth Justice Service who: delivers effective services and address the needs of children identified by Police arrests, referrals from education, social care, and health.
  • To achieve the key aims of prevention namely to reduce the numbers of first-time entrants into the Criminal Justice System; reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour in Ealing; and to increase the numbers of young people in education.
  • To contribute to the community safety and crime reduction strategies by working in partnership with other criminal justice, statutory and voluntary agencies to these aims.
  • To promote the welfare of children and young people and their capacity for change and social inclusion by delivering and reviewing interventions within a framework informed by principles of anti-discriminatory practice and equality of opportunity.
  • To work as part of a multi-agency team working to prevent offending and anti-social behaviour among young people and ensure families have access to appropriate mainstream and statutory services.
  • The Early Intervention Officer will be responsible for managing a caseload of young people involving conducting assessments, designing and direct delivery of intervention packages which address identified risk factors associated with offending, including individual and group work with young people, and providing parental support and advice in effective parenting strategies.

You will need:

  • experience of working in a relevant field
  • a relevant youth justice qualification or equivalent to partner agencies e.g. Cert Ed, Dip youth work, Dip SW, Police, Probation or substantial in-service training with evidence of validated learning and achievement.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
