To deliver a high standard of physical, personal, emotional, social and intellectual education and care for all children in the nursery To give support to other team members and manager throughout the nursery To work as part of a team to provide an enabling environment in which all children can play, learn and develop Main Duties at the end of your Apprenticeship: To operate a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of your key children in conjunction with other team members To plan, develop and keep records of your key children’s development using Famly and share this with parents, carers and other key adults in the child’s life To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well and secure Support all team members and engage in developing an excellent working environment Liaise with and work closely with parents/carers to deliver an individual learning and development journey for your key children To be involved in out of working hours activities (training, monthly staff meetings, parent/carer evenings, fundraising event etc) To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Help where needed, to include the undertaking of cleaning equipment and preparing snacks etc as designated by the Nursery Managers or the Senior Childcare Practitioner To work alongside the managers/owners/seniors and all staff to ensure that the Mission Statement and objectives of Rainbow Day Care is fulfilled Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role and the day-to-day running of the nursery Record accidents/incidents according to Rainbow Day Care policies and procedures Look upon Rainbow Day Care as a “whole” and identify where your help can be most utilised. Be consistently aware of the individual needs of all children and support other Team Members where appropriate Ensure someone known and according to Rainbow Day Care’s policies and procedures collects the child To respect the confidentiality of all information received To promote the high standards of the nursery at all times to parents, staff and visitors To assist the Childcare Manager, Deputy Manager and Senior Childcare Practitioner with the preparation and maintenance of materials and equipment To adhere to and understand the legal requirements of Early Years Foundation Stage To implement the Childcare planning according to the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history To undertake other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined by the Nursery Managers and the Senior Childcare Practitioner This Job Description works alongside those of all the other personnel. The Apprentice Childcare Practitioner’s responsibility is to work with and support the development of the children and build / maintain strong partnerships with the parent/carer. • We are looking for individuals with a nurturing and a genuine love for working with children.

• Attend any training that is required for the post

• You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be!
• You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required.
• You must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day. Working Week: Monday – Friday 7.30am – 5.30pm Apprenticeship Standard: Early Years Educator Level 3 About the employer: Rainbow Day Care is ideally located in the heart of Hoyland Town Centre.
