Salary: £19 258 – £20 392 per annum Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks Base: Wakefield College
To be an active member of the Student Experience team, to act as first point of reference within Student Experience for any Financial Support enquiries from students, staff or the public and to signpost clients to the appropriate services within college, if necessary.
To be responsible for the organisation and delivery of a comprehensive Financial Support service for students across the college group.
The role has the following main duties:
To provide support in relation to the College’s Financial Support service including, but not limited to:
Dealing with enquiries regarding Financial Support from prospective and current students and/or their parents/carers/guardians;
Providing information and guidance on Financial Support to students and parents/guardians
Support student induction activity at the start of each academic year.
Providing information and advice to college staff in relation to Financial Support.
To provide administrative support within Financial Support including, but not limited to:
Reviewing and processing applications for Financial Support;
Using existing systems to record the allocation of Financial Support funds;
Preparing and running data reports on student attendance and withdrawals;
Assisting with the production of any publicity material and relevant supporting information related to Financial Support, including the updating of any relevant forms/leaflets.
Assisting with the enrolment process; including fee enquiries, fee remission.
To work as a member of a team with a flexible and adaptable approach to business needs, including evenings and enrolment duty as required. This is a designated role, i.e. a role identified as providing support at enrolment time, therefore annual leave cannot be taken during the enrolment period.
To liaise with external agencies as appropriate e.g. Local Authority, Care2learn.
We are looking for the following skills/attributes:
GCSE’s A*- C / 9 – 4 in English and Maths as a minimum
The ability to form excellent working relationships and personal boundaries with children and young adults
Excellent written and verbal skills
The commitment to provide a high quality service
Previous experience working with students in an advisory role, or knowledge of Financial Support will be an advantage.
