About Us:
Sharing and promoting best practice across a variety of settings
In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Rated as outstanding by Ofsted, we are committed to improving the life chances of our children, which includes ensuring Early Years settings are properly resourced and supported. Our multidisciplinary Early Years’ Service team works across Kensington & Chelsea and the neighbouring borough of Westminster to ensure a joined-up approach and a focus on quality.
The Role:
We are looking for someone to join the team 3 days a week to cover maternity. You will be working in close partnership with Early Years providers, you’ll ensure under-fives are school-ready and that the needs of SEND children are being met. This is a broad-based and highly supportive role in which you’ll provide information and guidance and act as a critical friend to teachers and childcare providers. Organising your own workload, you’ll get to see and share best practices across a wide range of settings, including childminders, nurseries, reception classes and independent schools. From recruitment and retention to curriculum delivery, inclusion, training and market development, you’ll make a real difference to the quality of provision.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
We’re looking for someone who can bring about positive and lasting change in a variety of settings. A qualified Early Years professional with broad-ranging experience of Early Years and SEND, you’ll be ready to share your expertise with others in a structured and supportive way. Organised and analytical, you’ll also be highly empathic and able to adapt your working style to different contexts. High levels of emotional intelligence are important, along with strong communication and influencing skills.
In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, flexible working (hybrid model – visits to schools/settings, office days and remote working) a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
