Those with a Level 2 or level 3 NVQ or equivalent Qualification in Early Years will be expected to engage, play and care for the children in the classroom. You will be responsible for key children however you will also be expected to ensure all children are cared for to a very high standard. You will be responsible for the learning and development of the children and for ensuring activities are planned using a child lead approach. Using in the moment and child lead planning an ability to think on your feet and a very good understanding of the EYFs is essential. A basic level of child development is a must but quality training and supervision will be given.
Main Duties:
To care for the children in your classroom at all times
To assist the Senior room supervisor in the planning and preparation of the daily activities
To actively encourage children to learn, grow and develop as individuals
To be a key worker and complete necessary paperwork associated with this including (nappies, food, sleep, activities, communication, cleaning and general health and safety)
To have a good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation
To actively learn and develop as a member of staff through asking questions and giving suggestions at the staff meetings
To be a team player
To actively encourage best practice and innovative thinking when preparing and planning
To communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms
To ensure classroom and nursery policies and procedures are adhered to and are effective
To safeguard children at all times
To follow SEN and Safeguarding policy
To attend a yearly team activity
To attend all training and staff meetings
To not undertake any activity inside or outside of the organisation that could damage its reputation or ability to maintain Ofsted registration
To follow all nursery policies and procedures at all times
